The Grainstore Stamford

For up to 6 People

About the Accommodation

Centrally located, in the heart of gorgeous Stamford, this luxury 3 bedroom self-contained apartment, known as 'The Grainstore', comprises the lower 2 floors of 'The Old Granary'. It is the perfect base from which to explore the town. With revealed stonework, and old beams, it is brimming with character. It is also beautifully furnished, and fitted with all mod cons, making a fantastic mix of the old and new!

The Space

Arranged over 2 levels, you enter The Grainstore on the ground floor, where you will find the kitchen, living room, utility and WC.

In its own perfectly setup room, you'll also find my 'vintage' Addams Family pinball table! Available for guests to play (I try to leave some credits on it ready, but bring some £1 coins anyway, as you'll get addicted!) it makes a fantastic and unique addition to The Old Granary.

Even if playing pinball isn't your thing, it makes a great talking point / Insta story - please tag us in, as I love to see it being used and enjoyed...

Downstairs, are 3 bedrooms. One (Master) with King-size bed and ensuite, one with King-size bed, and one which can be either laid out as 2 singles, or 1 large King-size, depending on guest's requirements. In addition to the Master En-suite, there is also a main bathroom (including freestanding tub and separate shower enclosure).

Neighbourhood

"Proclaimed by Sir Walter Scott as “the finest stone town in England”, Stamford was declared a conservation area in 1967. It has over 600 listed buildings of mellow limestone in the town centre including five medieval churches, all real gems."

We love spending time in Stamford. It boasts some amazing pubs, independent restaurants and shops, and lots of great eateries, cafes and breakfast options - and is a fantastic place to wander around and soak up the atmosphere and views.

Stamford is also very well known for its stately home neighbour, Burghley House. Home of the globally renowned Burghley Horse Trials, the House also hosts many shows, events, festivals and fairs throughout the year - but even when there's nothing formal happening, it is still an amazing house and grounds to visit.

Stamford is also only a few miles from nearby Rutland Water - so if you're looking for a base to explore both town and countryside, The Old Granary is the perfect place to be...

Transport

Guests can safely pull up right outside the front door to load / unload, (the single yellow lines allow for loading / unloading) before moving your car to a more permanent spot.

There are also 'Short Term' / 'Permit Holder' bays along the road outside, in which you can leave your car for up to 2 hours (8am to 6pm). These bays are unrestricted overnight, so you can park there from 6pm until 8am, if you wish.

Longer term parking is available nearby - in Bath Row, Scotgate or Cattlemarket Car Parks. Charges apply (Mon to Sat), but most guests usually forget about their car for the entire stay and explore Stamford on foot.

The largest car park (Cattlemarket) is approx. 5 minutes' walk away. Stamford has a station, which is approx. 8 minutes' walk away.
